Become Certified for Road to Recovery

Jun 23, 2008 by Leigh Garrett

Volunteer for Road to Recovery! The American Cancer Society is seeking Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary members to volunteer for its Road to Recovery program to serve patients in Clarke and Oconee counties.

Road to Recovery is a service offered by the American Cancer Society in which volunteer drivers provide cancer patients transportation to and from their scheduled medical appointments. YOU decide when you can drive!

This program has been developed to assist those individuals who need help in getting to lifesaving treatments. Volunteer drivers help the patients along the “Road to Recovery.” Plus, volunteering for this program is a great way to get involved with the service area of the Auxiliary’s Mission.

Requirements for volunteering for Road to Recovery include a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a vehicle that is in good working condition.

For more information on becoming a Road to Recovery volunteer, contact Coordinator Leigh Garrett at 706.614.1593 or email Leigh. You may also contact Ashley Morrow at the American Cancer Society at 706.549.4893 or email Ashley.
